He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Fischer and Colette Fischer; his parents-in-law, Joseph and Josephine Weber; his son-in-law Dan Strauss (Boonie); and his great grandchild Patrick Strauss.
He is survived by: his wife Lorraine Fischer (Weber); his children, Anna Lou Strauss of Kitchener, Debbie Kamrath (Bruce) of Kincardine, Wayne of Mildmay, Connie Bohnert (Paul) of Mildmay, Laurie Bester (Howard) of Mildmay, Karen Huber (Simon) of Mildmay, Mike (Elaine) of Mildmay and Rhonda of Mildmay; and his sister Marilyn Fischer of Walkerton. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Mildmay-Carrick Fire Department (Cheques payable to the Municipality of South Bruce).
