He was predeceased by: his brothers, Daniel Ferguson and Bill Ferguson (Dianne Hood); his parents, Graham Ferguson and Betty Ferguson; and also Jane Ballantyne (Ted).
He is survived by: his wife Frances Ferguson; his children, James (Marta Brisco) and Katherine (Sylvain Lamarre); and his grandchildren, Miles, Erica Ferguson, Alexandre and Simon Lamarre. He is also survived by his nieces, nephews, friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, August 29th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Nicholls Funeral Home (330 Midland Ave, Midland, ON L4R3K7). A funeral service was held on Friday, August 30th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Paul's United Church (308 King St, Midland, ON L4R3M6). A reception was held on Friday, August 30th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Midland Cultural Centre (333 King St, Midland, ON L4R4K4).
In 1997 he was awarded the Law Society Bicentennial Award of Merit for exceptional service to the Community and in 2011, the Law Society Medal for outstanding contribution to the legal profession.
