He was predeceased by: his son Philip; and his siblings, Alan, Barbara and Audrey. He is survived by: his wife Joan Hughes; his son Mark Hughes (Shannon); his granddaughter Alexa; and his sisters, Margaret and Marion (Ronnie) of England.

In lieu of flowers, Phil has requested donations to the Huronia Hospice or the Midland SPCA.
