He was predeceased by: his parents, Phyllis Thompson and George Thompson; and his siblings, Harry, Howard, Tom, Dalton, Ronald, Jean and Glenna.
He is survived by: his wife Marguerite Thompson; his daughters, Annette Musselman (Wayne) of Georgian Bluffs, Eleanor Thompson (Peter Howelett) of Cambridge, Dianne Thompson of Guelph and Cheryl Martin (Jack) of Meaford; his grandchildren, Carrie (Dane), Krista, Scott, Lindsay (Jeff), Jaclynn (Mike), Dean (Brandy) and Dallas (Brianna); his great grandchildren, Rylee, Blake, Zoe, Jade, Cohen, Hera and Sophie; his brothers, Doug (Marg) of Newmarket and Joe (Barb) of Bloomfield; and his sister-in-law Grace Smith of Nelson, B. C.
