He was predeceased by: his spouse Hilda Maxwell Holmes; his brother Barry Holmes; and his parents, Sterling Holmes and Evelyn Holmes. He is survived by: his children, Lynda Maxwell (Ron Ouimet) of Maxville, John Maxwell of Cambridge, Cheryl Ann Holmes (Peter) of Montreal, Robbie Holmes of Manitoba and Kenny Holmes of Vancouver; and his sibling Robert Holmes (Sandra) of Toronto. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers Memorial Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
