He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Angela McDonell; his children, Bernard (Elizabeth), Ellen, Ann and Neil; his grandchildren, Neil (Roula), Kathryn (Ben) and Michael (Jocelyne); and his great grandchildren, Nicholas, Connor, Angela, Cameron, Penelope and Aubrey.
