She was predeceased by: her husband Thomas S. Spanton; her stepson Michael Cook; her grandchildren, Jana Cook and Eric Michael Burton; her son-in-law Paul Birdsall; her parents, John Cole and Ethel Cole; and her siblings, Jack and Nancy.

She is survived by: her stepchildren, Susan Cook (John Smart), Marlene Cook, Elizabeth Birdsall, Thomas Spanton (Daisy), David Spanton (Barb), Laura Davies (Mike) and Michael Spanton (Robyn); her sisters, Brenda, Margaret and Susan; her siblings-in-law, Charles (Lil), Margaret and Stephen (Betty); her grandchildren, Kerry, Caitlin, Jessica, Stephanie, Neil, Matthew, Braeden, Nicholas, Allison, Kevin and Charls; and her niece Kate. She is also survived by her nieces, nephews, great grandchildren, and great nieces and nephews.
