He was predeceased by: his spouse Geraldine Haws; his parents, John Haws and Bertha Haws (Powell); his granddaughter Sherri; and his siblings, Mansell, Borden, Evalena and Lela.

He is survived by: his child Kathy Chwalek (John) of Yonge Mills; his grandchild Dawn McManus (Randy); and his great grandchildren, Alyssa, Tristan and Caleb. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
