He was predeceased by: his parents, Edson Slate and Mildred Slate (Cranker); his brothers, Barry and Donald Slate; and his brother-in-law Donald Urquhart.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy Wooding; his sister Katherine Urquhart; his siblings-in-law, Pat Slate and Michael Walsh; and his stepdaughter Jennifer Wooding. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
