He was predeceased by: his parents, Reginald Duffield and Olive Duffield; his brother John Duffield; his sister-in-law Margaret; and his son-in-law Doug Armstrong.
He is survived by: his wife Anne Patricia; his children, Melanie Armstrong, Anne Lawrence (Doug), Christopher Duffield (Nadia) and Nicola Romain (Michael); and his grandchildren, Lauren Hirschfield (Glenn), Drew Lawrence (Ashley), Nicholas Armstrong (Renee), Michael Lawrence (Nathalie), Cassandra Romain and Lyndsay Romain. He is also survived by 8 great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
For those who wish, donations in Alan's memory may be directed to the Brockville and District Hospital Foundation Palliative Care Program or to St. James Anglican Church (by cheque - P.O. Box 323, Maitland, ON, K0E 1P0) and will be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
