He is survived by: his wife Edna Alton of Lucknow; his children, Randy Alton (Laurie) of Lucknow, Blair Alton (Barbara) of London and Kent Alton (Jan) of Clinton; his grandchildren, Kelsie Murley (Ryan), Marlee Gowing (Ben), Scott Alton (Michelle), Benjamin Alton (Sarah), Tyler Brooks (Sarah), Dani Lindsay (Luke) and Mack Alton; his great grandchildren, Crew, Harvey Murley, Theodore, Penelope Gowing, Addison, Nora Brooks, Gus, Helmi, Tavi and Fitz Lindsay; his siblings, Lorne Alton and Eleanor Henderson (Paul); and his brothers-in-law, Norman Stewart (Norma) and Richard Stewart (Leslie).
A masonic service was held on Monday, March 31st 2025 at 12:30 PM at the MacKenzie & McCreath Funeral Home (595 Campbell St, Lucknow, ON N0G 2H0). Visitation was held on Monday, March 31st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 1st 2025 at 1:00 PM.
