He was predeceased by: his wife Helen Patterson; his sisters-in-law, Betty Frayne and Marlene; and his brothers, George, Harry and Don Patterson.

He is survived by: his children, Linda, Les and Sandra Patterson; his grandchildren, Jacob, Sarah, Johnathon, Brody and Elizabeth; and his brothers-in-law, Harold and Ross Mathers.
