He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Betty Prest (Ellwood) of McGillivray Township and George; his parents-in-law, June Verbruggen (Morrice) of Chatham and Peter; his children, Scott Prest, Tonya Hickton of McGillivray Township, Teri Prest Caron and Joedy Caron of London; his granddaughter Anita Hickton; and his siblings, Cindy (Kevin Davidson), Penny Verbruggen (Andrew Boeyenga) and Kim Verbruggen of Fort St. He was also cherished by his nephew, several nieces, and extended family.
