He was predeceased by: his wife Nancy; his parents, Walker Schofield and Nellie Schofield; his sister Ellen Schofield; and his in-laws, Mary, Leonard Johnson, Verna, Ron Faulds, Joanne Pickering and Cathy Johnson.

He is survived by: his children, Mary, Thomas (Sherry) and Susan (Tomas); his grandchildren, Jonah, Cameron, Dane and Zoey; his siblings-in-law, George, Lily Johnson, Charlie, Janet Johnson, Bill Pickering, Bill Dixon and John Johnson; and his cousins, David and Jackie Mackenzie.
