He was predeceased by: his former wife Marilyn. He is survived by: his wife Ria Rops; his children, Beth Hanson, John Hanson (Jacqueline) and Jenny Veeke (Ed); his grandchildren, Paul (Vanessa), Brian Veeke, Hailey (Sean) and Cameron Hanson; his siblings, Gary (Deanne), David Hanson, June Huge (Conrad) and Gloria Sorby (Paul); and his siblings-in-law, Wayne Edwards (Islay), Brenda Barker (late Garry) and Norma Hills (Randy). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, a donation in Ray's name may be made to any of the following: Highview Residence in London, The Alzheimer's Society of Canada, or Parkinson Canada.
