He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil Milner and Eliza Milner; and his brother-in-law Dominic Carere. He is survived by: his son David Fortner (Maureen); his grandson John Fortner; his sister Shirley Carere; his nephew Joseph Carere (Lori); his niece Liz Carere; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Jason, Matthew and Ashley.
