With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joanne Alice Nixon (London, Ontario), born in Petrolia, Ontario, who passed away on February 12, 2023 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Garnet Barber and Dorothy Barber; her brothers, Russell and Dwight Barber; her close friend Gordon Nixon; her daughters, Debbie Footwinkler (Gary) and Cathy Freer-Leszczynski (Bob); her grandchildren, Bobby Footwinkler (Angela), Jocelyne (Connor), Cassandra and Nick Leszczynski; her great grandchildren, Kingston, Phoenix and Bella Footwinkler; her stepsons, Bill Nixon (Leslie), Gary Nixon (Pam), Keeley and Nathan; and her pets, Sean, Sheba, Shadow and Sammy.
While Joanne was comfortable and happy in her Chelsea Park Retirement Community, she was excited to travel out west during Covid and spent her last 5 Christmases with her daughter and family there.
