He was predeceased by: his parents, William George and Mary Gunn Philip; and his siblings, William, Doreen and Mary Gray.

He is survived by: his sons, George (Colette Rigney) and John (Renee Budding); his grandchildren, William, Carter, Jeremy and Naomi; and his sisters, Betty Simpson, Jeannie Thom (Alex) and Aileen Chrichton.
