He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas O'Neil and Peggy O'Neil; and his siblings, William, Catherine, Thomas, Jack and Margaret.

He is survived by: his children, Michael and Angela; his grandchildren, Gavin and Avery; and his brothers, Teddy O'Neil and Terry O'Neill. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
