He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Barbara; his children, Angela (Darren), Naomi (Kevin), Carla (Mark) and Tracy (Darryl); and his grandchildren, Taylor, Graysen, Tristan, Cole, Finnegan, Evan, Julian and Lynnea. He was also cherished by his extended family and many lifelong friends.

“I had the amazing opportunity to share an office with Dwight for many years at Fanshawe College. He was always able to make someone smile, me especially. Whenever bad news was on the horizon, Dwight found that silver lining in the clouds. We would occasionally go to McD's for his Filet o Fish sandwhich, or to Swiss Chalet. After he retired, we still got together for lunch whenever possible. I'm going to miss those lunches, and his smile and laughter.”
