He was predeceased by: his former wife Barbara Hazel; his son Gordon; his brother Alex; his former wife Anne Ross; and his parents, Agnes Beattie Fox and James Alexander Fox of Scotland.

He is survived by: his children, Carol (David) and Malcolm; and his grandchild Fiona (Scott). He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
