In the sacred silence of farewell, Donald is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that his light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of his loved ones. And as his memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Donald's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
He was predeceased by: his daughter Cathy Whelan (Steve). He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth; his son Steven Ryckman (Alison); his grandchildren, Ben Whelan (Petya), Megan Rudd (Dave), Sarah Ryckman and Matthew Ryckman (Colleen MacKenzie); and his great grandchildren, Jaxxon, Palmer Rudd and Vincent Whelan.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Ronald McDonald House of Southwestern Ontario (https://www.rmhc-swo.ca), a place which he and his family hold dear to their hearts for the assistance and support provided to Jaxxon and Palmer in their early years as well as where his grand-daughter Sarah actively volunteers, would be greatly appreciated and welcomed.
