He was predeceased by: his wife Yvonne Roy; his siblings, Oscar Roy, Nelson Roy, Eunice Ferrier, Beatrice Way, Adeline Roy and Thelma Roy; his son-in-law Bob Brown; his stepson-in-law David Carrothers; and his grandson Ryan Hargest.

He is survived by: his children, Rick Roy (Lorraine), Jerry Roy and Rachel Brown (Rob); his stepchildren, John Hargest (Claire), Paul Hargest (Angela), Kelly Hargest (Sharon), Randy Hargest (Kim) and Lisa Carrothers; and his brother Herb Roy. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to one of Del's favourite charities, the Sick Kids Foundation, or a charity of your choice, in his honour.
