He is survived by: his wife Rajaladchumy; his children, Sooriyakumaran (Vijayamala Coomar), Thayalakumaran (Vijayadevi Velauthapillai), Parimala (Joseph Edward), Jayakumaran (Pathma Coomar), Priyatharisini, Balakumaran (Sharmain Kumar), Nirmala (Sothynathan Nagalingam) and Manjula (Dennis Evans); his grandchildren, Dr. Meera (Robert Lanteigne) and Dr. Radha Joseph; and his children, Christina Coomar, Rhea, Emily, Karina Kumar, Mayuri, Mithila Sothynathan and Justin Coomar.
