He was predeceased by: his former wife Sarah; his brother Paul; his sisters-in-law, Gladsy and Marilyn; his sister Susan Baxter; and his brothers-in-law, Bill Baxter and Ernie Nemeth.
He is survived by: his wife Helen; his children, Robert (Catherine) of Grand Bend, Laurie Jewell of Petoskey, Michigan and Alan (Terri) of Hamilton; his brother John of Oshawa; and his siblings-in-law, Jack Pettigrew of Toronto, Bob Pettigrew of Hamilton and Betty Nemeth of Brampton. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
