He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilbert Besterd and Mae Besterd; his wife Dorothy Besterd; and his siblings, Dorothy, Shirley, Marge, Harvey, Ruth, Lorraine and Doug.
He is survived by: his friend Carolyn Buchanan; his sister Betty Hunt; and his children, Debbie Donohue (Rick), John Besterd (Maria Hauschel) and Steve Besterd. He is also survived by 25 nieces and nephews.
