She was predeceased by: her husband John "Janis" Tampa; and her sister Rita. She is survived by: her children, Laila Dambenieks (Andrejs), Rita Smith (Ed) and John Tampa; her grandchildren, Andrew (Joanne), Peter (Priscilla), Brian (Jaime) and Amelia; her great grandchildren, Rohan, Calian and Serina; and her niece Ilona.

In memory of Ausma, memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer Society Southwest Partners.
