He was predeceased by: his parents, Antoon J. H. Moonen and Theresia Moonen-Ubachs; and his siblings, May Moonen, Harry Moonen, Hub Moonen, Piet Moonen, Maria Bosch-Moonen and Lieske Hermens-Moonen.

He is survived by: his wife Meta Moonen of London; his children, Antoine of Toronto, Hans of London and Jacqueline; his grandchildren, Serena, Joop III, Karleen and Aidan; and his brothers, Jean (Hanny) and Sjeng.
