He was loved and cherished by many people including: his father Albertus Bultje; his wife Jane Bultje (Danes); his grandson John; his daughters, Karen, Michelle DaPonte (Ed) and Tanya English (Peter); his grandchildren, Laura, Matthew, Nicole, Michael, Karissa, Lauren, Christian and Angelina; and his siblings, Barbara (Kees), Linie (Willem), Bertha (Jan), Grace, Jan, Ann, Linda (Ike Van), Albert (Grace Bultje), Alberdina (Keith Louwerse) and Philip Bultje. He was also cherished by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family.
