It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Maxine Joan Shawongonabe (Little Current, Ontario), who passed away on January 12, 2022, at the age of 68, leaving to mourn family and friends. She is survived by: her sons, James Roy and Victor Roy; her grandchildren, Amira Deer-Roy, Mercedes Roy, Tyler Roy, Shyanne Sandiford, Dawson Sandiford and Blade Roy; her siblings, Raymond Abel (Jennifer), Roxanne Recollet (Ted), Sylvia Recollet (Bruce), Rubina Nebenionquit (Dean), Brenda Jacko, Terry Wabegijig (Olive), Clarence Roy (Catherine), Lawrence Shawongonabe (Joanne) and Lloyd Shawongonabe (Audrey); her aunt Tina; and her friends, Katherine Beddows, Norma Peltier, Phyliss Williams, Allison Fisher, Shirley Nashkawa, Gertie Manitowabi and Gerard Sagassige. She is also survived by her aunties, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and godchildren.
