He was predeceased by: his former wife Karlene; his son Kevin Cooper (Pam); and his siblings, Jack, Lena, Nellie Thomas (Gordon), Jean Harfield (Bernard), Leonard Cooper (Betty), Alvern Nighswander (Stuart), Max Cooper and Burt Cooper (Shirley).
He is survived by: his wife Gertrude; his son Brent Cooper (Lisa); his stepsons, Steve Aelick (Julie) and Darren Aelick (Lisa); his grandchildren, Kyle Cooper (Stacey), Emily Cooper, Brandon Cooper (Hailey Brownell), Morgan Cooper and Holly Cooper; his stepgrandchildren, Krista Collins (Joshua), Molly, Trevor (Lyndsay), Jamieson and Jillian Aelick; his great grandchildren, Adam, Winter, Lucas and Jillian; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Ella, Finn and Alyssa; his siblings-in-law, Ellen Cooper and Grenville Green (Brenda); and his granddaughter Alannah. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
