He was predeceased by: his wife Ardis Smith; his sisters, Marie Doherty and Kay Levy; and his parents, Clarence Smith and Thelma Smith (Tughan).
He is survived by: his children, Paul Smith (Aline), Carla Matheson (Brad) and Leanne Hamilton (Rob); his grandchildren, Stacey Bailey (Patrick), Shawn Smith (Alicia), Kaley Smith (Al), Cole Smith (Taylor), Christina Anderson (Kristopher), Aaron McDonald (Lacey), Jessica McDonald, Christa Vanderlinden (Nigel), Jenny Beirnes (Mike), Jillian Matheson (Justin), Justin Hamilton (Ashlee) and Josie Hamilton (Dave); his great grandchildren, Karson, Kai, Blake, Emerson, Ayda, Kohen, Mason, Emily, Ryan, Aubrey, Rowan, Chloe, Brook, Emrie, Rhyland, Leighton, Wyatt, Willow, Keegan, Paiton, Olivia, Sully and Maria; and his sister Joyce Jacobs. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
