He was predeceased by: his parents, Allan Smith and Mabel Smith (Cox); his siblings, Joe (Bev), Lloyd (Beryl), Doreen Willoughby (Vern) and Grace Smith; and his siblings-in-law, Shirley Smith, John Seddon and John Gibbons.

He is survived by: his spouse Marion (Pake); his children, Ron (Susan), Brenda Bast (Ken), Donna Wells (Steve) and Lorrie Traves (Keith); his grandchildren, Sherry (Sean), Ryan (Tracy), Angie (Cam), Mike (Colene), Matt (Morgan), Chancey, Adam (Lisa) and Aleisha (Michael); his great grandchildren, Bryn, Talia, Hannah, Holden, Haelyn, Winston, Edwin, Meyer, Paige, Addison, Olivia, Ava, Maxwell, Jack and Molly; and his siblings, Ross, Larry (Marilyn), Fred (Teuni), Carmen (Doreen), Harry Smith, Glenna Seddon, Roger (Donna) and Fran Gibbons. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
