She was predeceased by: her parents, Roelof Slump and Aukje Slump. She is survived by: her siblings, Bernie Slump (Mary), Sandra Koning (Richard) and Gerda Lycklama (Heinz); her children, Natalka Verra (Paul), Juanita, Christina Corcoran (Brad) and Carla Hosmar (Phil); her grandchildren, Brandon (Alyssa), Noah (Megan), Danielle (Andrew), Aaryn (Makenna), Taylor, Hope (Levon), Olivia, Paige, Rebecca (Brady), Chad (Carissa) and Brooke; her great grandchildren, Sawyer and Jackson; and her husband Pieter Balhuizen.

A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 11th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Jennings Creek Christian Reformed Church (206 Angeline St N, Lindsay, ON K9V4Y4).

“Not sure how I came across this notice but the flood of memories came back of when I worked on your farm in the summer of 1980. The whole family was awesome but she especially made me feel welcome seeing how that was my first real time away from home for an extended period of time. The patience your parents had with me was incredible. But oh how she was mad when I was pulling weeds in the garden and I pulled up the budding sprouts of sweet corn. But all great times.
