He was predeceased by: his children, Ruthie and Robert; his parents, Florence (Hunter) and Wilbert; his sister Gladys Patch; his brother-in-law Carlton Patch; and his cousins, Donald Warner and Florence Shields.

He is survived by: his spouse Margaret Jean (Smart); his children, Susan Forrester (Michael), Janet Porter (Philip) and Sarah Felten (Stéphane); his grandchildren, Zach, Dustin Forrester, Julia Meek (Wes), Jessica Shea (Peter), Harvey, Charlotte, Eleanor Porter and Mathis Felten; his great grandchildren, Aaron Shea and Nova Jean Meek; and his sisters-in-law, Mary Eleanor Smart, Ann Nicholas and Bulmer.
