She was predeceased by: her spouse John Carmichael; her son Brian; and her brothers-in-law, Fred Wyatt and Art Airey. She is survived by: her children, Ron (Donna) of Lindsay, Bob (Susan) of Peterborough, Gary (Georgina) of Kitchener and Brad (Megan) of Collingwood; her siblings, Ken Smith (Mary), Kim Smith (Marilyn), Dorothy Airey, Viola Wyatt and Jackie Smith; and her sibling-in-law Carol Richardson. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
