He was predeceased by: his son Darren (Kim); and his brothers, Bob Hughes and David Hughes. He is survived by: his wife Catherine "Sis" Hughes; his children, Lisa Jilesen (John), Bryan Hughes (Karen), Tim Pilon, Jim Thompson (Susan) and Cindy Thompson (Gord); his grandchildren, Marc, Dylan, Alex, Shaylee, Tyler, Kyla, Laura, Adam, Lucas, Nolan, Ryan, Jackson, Leandra and Shae-Lyn; and his siblings, Pat Batcules (late Jim), Tiny Fell (Don), Brian Hughes (Marlene), Susan Barriball (Ron) and Joanne Harvey (Reg). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Stoddart Funeral Home (24 Mill St, Lindsay, ON K9V2L1). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A reception was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 67 (12 York St N, Lindsay, ON K9V3Z6).
If desired, a memorial donation may be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Kawartha Lakes which would be appreciated by the family.
