He was predeceased by: his parents, John Kern and Kathleen Kern; his wife Mary Ann Kern; and his children, Derik Hyatt (Erin Shanks) and Jennifer St. Louis.
He is survived by: his grandchildren, Maximus and Paige St. Louis; his brother Tab; and his sister-in-law Marty Kern.
