He was predeceased by: his parents, Konrad Gerhardt and Elisabeth Gerhardt (Krehling); and his brother Heinrich Gerhardt. He is survived by: his wife Anna Maria Mussar; and his brothers, Johann and Siegfried. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.
