He was predeceased by: his daughter Tammy Whalen (Shawn); his parents, Bucky Topping and Lolly Topping; and his brothers, George and Kenneth.

He is survived by: his spouse Carol Topping; his children, Jamie Topping (Nancy Foster) and Sarah Kirkland (Darren); and his sister Mary Carl (Wayne).
