He was predeceased by: his parents, Leon Spriet and Renilde Spriet (De Vos); and his siblings, Celeste, Roger, Lizette, Simone and Andrew.
He is survived by: his wife Doris (McDowell); his children, John (Lisa), Pamela, David and Michael; his grandchildren, Luka, Claire and Natalie Baresic; and his sisters, Rosa and Mary.
John wished to be cremated, and due to covid-related attendance restrictions, the funeral liturgy was a private family event.
