She was predeceased by: her husband Cornelius Sommers; her sons, Henry and Michael (late Charlene); her siblings, Frank, Harry and Nelly; her granddaughters, Roxanne and Laurie Anne; and her parents, Henry Roefs and Anna Roefs.

She is survived by: her children, Betty (late Richard Monahan) of Peterborough, Peter (Louise) of Lancaster, John (Cathy) of Orleans, Martin (Emmy) of Long Sault, Anne Marie VanSleeuwen (Cory) of Williamstown, Jerry (Wendy) of Newington, Bernie (Cindy) of Cornwall, Gene (Amy) of Florida, Francis (Claudette) of Orleans and Joe (Wendy) of Blackburn Hamlet; and her siblings, Mary Beks (late Francis) of Vankleek Hill, Josephine Peeters (Peter) of Cornwall, Tina Smolenaars (late Gerry) of Nova Scotia, John Roefs (late Anna Mae) of Nova Scotia and Tony Roefs (Rita) of Nova Scotia. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
