He was predeceased by: his wife Pauline J. Hamelin; his parents, Ambrose M. Allen and Annie McKinnon; and his brothers, Tom, Bob, Kenny and Jack (late Joyce).

He is survived by: his son Richard Hamelin (Lucie); his grandchildren, Justin and Joël; his great grandchild Daphne; and his niece Holly. He is also survived by his extended family; his friends.
