He is survived by: his children, Shawn and Tyler Mewhinney (Joanne); his granddaughter Kyla; his girlfriend Linda Storey; his girlfriend's children, Lindsey (Maya) and Sheldon; his siblings, Doug Mewhinney (Cathy), Linda Hunter (Bev), Kathy Nicholson (Rae) and Dave Mewhinney (Ellen); and his nieces and nephews, Christine, Derek, Bradley, Jessica, David, Jeff, Jason, Curtis, Christopher and Matt. He is also survived by his extended family, many friends.
