He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas L. Atkinson and Grace McKrindle Atkinson. He is survived by: his wife Sandra B. Atkinson; his children, Gordon J. (Melanie), Paul T., Kenneth W. and Joanne B. Mewhinney (Tyler); and his sisters, Linda D. Unrau (Les) of Peterborough and Barbara A. Essegern (Rudy) of Brantford.
