He was predeceased by: his parents, Erwin Zimmer and Catherine Zimmer; and his siblings, June, David, Jane, Glen, Louis and Thomas.

He is survived by: his wife Ailsa; his children, Cindy Zimmer and Colin Zimmer; and his siblings, Gail, Mary and Terrance. He is also survived by his extended family and friends.
