He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Wasson and Fern Wasson of Lakefield; and his siblings, Cameron, Royden, Neil and Elaine.

He is survived by: his wife Marie (Drumm); his children, Terry Wasson (Catherine) of Ennismore, Don Wasson Jr. of Peterborough and Merrie Wasson of Toronto; his grandchildren, Jamie Sokary (Mason), Mallory Wasson and Matthew Smith; his great grandchildren, Samia and Laila Sokary; and his siblings, Dean Wasson (Freda) and Cheryl Reid (Bert).

Memorial donations may be made to The Peterborough District Sports Hall of Fame or The Palliative Care Unit at PRHC.
