He was predeceased by: his siblings, Walter, Clifford, Teddy, Joyce Ann and Verna.

He is survived by: his wife Joyce Sutherland; his children, Brian Sutherland of London and Linda Dakin (Bill) of Strathroy; his grandchildren, Jordan (Lauren), Adam, Jacob, Lukas Sutherland and Mikayla Winegarden (Daniel); his great grandchildren, Tyler and Briella Sutherland; and his sisters-in-law, Barbara and Audrey Sutherland. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
