He was predeceased by: his brothers, Henry Thiessen and John Thiessen; his cousin Gerhardt Fast (Annie); and his parents, Johann Thiessen and Aganetha Thiessen.
He is survived by: his wife Monika; his children, Tim (Bobbi-Jo), Nancy and Jay (Shannon); his grandchildren, Sarah McQueen (John), Alycia McQueen, Chris McQueen (Tyler), Andrew Thiessen (Allie), Kurtis Thiessen (Marion), Jacob Thiessen, James Caldwell, Hannah Caldwell (Sheldon), Matthew Thiessen and Lucas Thiessen; his great grandchildren, Georgia, Winnie, Lawson, Henry, Nora and Arthur; his sister Helen Kroh; and also Ursula. He is also survived by his mother and grandmother look after his three younger siblings.
