She was predeceased by: her mother Maria Bagiu; her husband John; her sister Ekatarina Stanciu; and her nephew Traian Stanciu. She is survived by: her daughter Lina; her niece Maria of Serbia; and her pets, Bella and Kitty.

Visitation was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM and on Friday, December 5th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Westmount Memorial Celebration Centre (1001 Ottawa St S, Kitchener, ON N2E2X5). A funeral service was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

Memorial donations may be made to the KW Humane Society in support of Maria's love for animals.
